Ivo A. Tjan, Co-Chair

Ivo A. Tjan is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of CommerceWest Bank, N.A., a full service commercial bank with a unique vision and culture of focusing exclusively on the business community.  Mr. Tjan is the Founder of the company and launched an Initial Public Offering in 2001.  The Bank is headquartered in Irvine, California with Regional Offices serving Orange County, Inland Empire, Los Angeles and San Diego.  In 2010, CommerceWest Bank was rated as one of the Fastest Growing Public Companies by the Orange County Business Journal.  In 2009, CommerceWest was named a 5 star rated Bank by bauerfinancial, bankrate.com, and premier ratings by thestreet.com and Findley.  Also in 2008, the Bank was ranked the 3rd most profitable Bank in Orange County by the OC Business Journal, named one of the friendliest Banks to small businesses by the Orange County Register, and recognized as the best performing bank in 2008 by the Findley Report.  Mr. Tjan was recognized as one of Vivid Magazine’s Annual Top 10 Asian American Entrepreneur for 2007.  CommerceWest Bank was recognized as one of the top 100 fastest growing companies in the country according to the 2006 Entrepreneur Magazine, PriceWaterhouseCoopers survey; also in 2006 Mr. Tjan was named one of OC Metro’s Hottest 25 People of Orange County, California.

Mr. Tjan holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from California State University, Fullerton.  He is an active member and board member of several social and charitable organizations.  Mr. Tjan sits on the board of the Marconi Foundation and American Bankers Association Government Relations Committee; he is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), Bank CEO Network and Pacific Club.  He is also a former member of the board of directors for California State Fullerton University Philanthropic Foundation, American Bankers Association Council, Advisory Board for CASA and the Children’s Museum, as well as a former member of Generation Next, California Bankers Association, and Western Independent Bankers Association.  In addition, Mr. Tjan supports a variety of charities in Southern California, like Big Brothers Big Sisters, American Cancer Society, Orangewood, TACA, MDA, Canyon Acres, Taste of the Nation, Tim Salmon Foundation, United Way, local schools and colleges, and many more.
